These figures come from Ourdream's internal analytics, extracted on September 7, 2026. They describe activity across the platform, including companion types beyond AI girlfriends. Monthly dates use Australia/Sydney time.
[1] Companions chatted with. In August 2026, 1,246,864 distinct companions had recorded one-to-one chat activity containing user messages. Group chats are excluded. This measures companions used during the month, not the current size of the character library.
[2] Companion creations and anime style. August 2026 recorded 2,250,723 distinct companion creations. Of those, 597,032 (26.53%) had an anime style. The total includes creations with no recorded style. Creation does not necessarily mean the character is publicly available or was chatted with.
[3] First-week creation. Among 1,923,443 users with recorded signups from August 1, 2026 through August 30, 2026, 1,123,757 (58.42%) created a companion within seven days of signup. This measures creation, rather than conversations with that character.
[4] Connections across 90 days. By the end of August 2026, 344,789 user-companion pairs had recorded chat activity at least 90 days apart. This is an observed lower bound, with qualifying tracking available from February 2026. It does not require continuous activity between those dates.
