ourdream has one paid plan with two billing options. Here's the full ourdream AI pricing, as listed in the help center article on monthly vs annual subscriptions.

The annual plan halves the monthly cost and doubles your first batch of coins. The catch is you pay $119.88 upfront, and refunds on annual plans are case by case (more on that below).

If you run out of coins mid-month, you can buy a top-up from your profile page. Top-ups need an active subscription. You can't buy dreamcoins on a free account.

Is ourdream Free? What the Free Plan Includes

Yes, you can use ourdream for free. Signing up costs nothing and you don't need a credit card.

A free account starts with 55 dreamcoins. They're a one-time allowance, so they don't refill each month. On the free plan, coins pay for everything:

• Each message costs 1 dreamcoin on the standard model, and 2 on Genius
• Creating a character costs 5 dreamcoins
• Images cost 5 dreamcoins each

That's enough to build a character, have a short conversation and see whether the writing suits you. It isn't enough for daily chat.

What Are Dreamcoins and What Do They Cost?

Dreamcoins are ourdream's in-app currency. One balance covers chat, images, video and voice, so you don't juggle separate credits for each.

On a paid plan, your 1,000 monthly coins land on your renewal date. The help center says they're processed at 2pm EST that day. Coins don't expire while your account is open, so whatever you don't spend stays in your balance. There are two exceptions. If you get a refund, unused coins are removed. If you cancel and later sign up again, your old coins aren't restored.

The pattern is easy to see. Text is free or close to it. Images are cheap. Video and voice calls are where coins go fast.

What 1,000 Dreamcoins Actually Buys

1,000 dreamcoins buys about 200 standard images, 50 seconds of standard video, or 20 minutes of voice calls. Or 1,000 Genius replies. Most people mix them.

Here are three ways a month on the paid plan could look. The coin costs come straight from the table above.

A chat-only user rarely touches the coin limit. Unused coins pile up, which is useful if you later decide to try video.

A chat-plus-images user fits inside the allowance with room to spare. This is the use the plan is priced for.

A video-heavy user will run short. One 60-second video costs 1,200 coins, more than a full month's allowance. If video is the main reason you're here, budget for top-ups, or stick to short clips.

Is ourdream Worth It?

Is ourdream AI worth it? For most people who want both chat and images, yes. For some people, no. Here's how to tell.

Worth it if:

• You chat most days and don't want to count messages
• You want images of your characters as well as text chat
• You like the idea of one character you build up over weeks, with memory that carries across chats
• You'll try short video clips now and then
• You're happy to pay yearly, which brings the price to $9.99 a month

Probably not if:

• You only chat now and then, and never make images. The free plan or a cheaper text-only app may be enough
• You need a native iPhone or Android app. ourdream runs in your browser. You can add it to your home screen, but there's no App Store download
• You want long video every day. Coins won't stretch that far without top-ups
• You want safe-for-work chat only. A general app will suit you better

How does the price compare, as of October 18, 2026? Character.AI's paid plan, c.ai+, costs less, but it's built for safe-for-work chat and doesn't allow adult roleplay. Cancelling, Refunds and What Happens to Your Images

Read this part before you pay. It's the part people ask about after.

Cancelling

Go to your profile, click "Cancel subscription" and confirm. You keep paid access until the end of your current billing period. Cancelling doesn't trigger a refund. Full steps are in How do I cancel my subscription?

Your images and videos

Refunds

Refunds aren't possible once more than 25% of what you bought has been used. Monthly plans can't be refunded once the coins are used up. Annual plans may get a full or partial refund. Payments made in cryptocurrency can't be refunded. After a refund, your subscription ends, your images and videos blur, and unused coins are removed. If you're unsure, start with the free plan. If you then subscribe, start monthly. Move to annual once you know you'll stay.

Try ourdream Before You Decide

Build one character on the free plan and give it a proper conversation. If the writing works for you and you can see yourself wanting images of that character, the paid plan is good value. If you only want a quick chat now and then, stay free. Create your first character, or compare plans if you're ready.
